Feels like I've been on a permenant holiday (from blogging that is!) This weekend, starts with a boat cruise tonite around Georgian Bay, then heading to a friend's cottage for the rest of the time. My sis was the fab finder of these babies, so I bought a pair too! I am happy I did because they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own now! (next to my gym shoes, that is...) They are black, soft leather and have flowers stitched in charcoal thread with a tiny rhinestone in the centre of the flower. Super cute!

This is where we live right now (see last pic) with Hunny's Mum and Dad. The first pic is an old milk can with a picture of the house (see last pic) painted on the front. The big apple tree is kind of in the way of the house...

The middle picture shows more detail. I think the artist did a fabulous job creating the painting from just a mere photo! The detail on the cobblestone is beautiful :)

Hello! I will try to post more frequently soon. It has been so hot here (in the 30's!) so I have been beaching it up while I can :) These pics were taken at the annual Beach party we attended a couple weekends ago.

The first pic is of Georgian Bay, the second was a cute little otter that was hiding beneath my feet on the rocks! The last pic is another pretty beach shot, with a lonely Muskoka chair, waiting for someone to relax in!

It's another long weekend here for us in Canada, it's Civic Holiday on Monday, so I will be away until Tuesday. Hope everyone has a great weekend! xo

I love commercials Telus creates! I was searching for the song in the new one (you know, the one with all the cute fish swimming around?) I discovered that the song is by Ben Lee and is called "We're all in this together" from his 2005 cd Awake is the New Sleep.

Based out of the rainy city of Seattle is pare * umbrella has some very funky + unique umbrella designs. I posted a few that caught my eye. I like 'deer place' the most.

Okay, I am now addicted. Addicted to lululemon, that is! I absolutely LOVE my new relaxed crop yoga pants. The luon headbands are perfect for keeping your locks out of your face, and are a fashion statment themselves. I posted the red and purple headbands, I bought the basic black for myself. About a month ago I posted a taste of Sarah Richardson's new show Sarah's House which airs on HGTV. What I liked about this particular episode, Sarah explains in great detail the challenges of designing and decorating a kids-only bathroom. Her tip I admire is: go kid-friendly without being juvenile; meaning buy items that will grow with your child, as oposed to buying 'kids only' items.

weekend in toronto

We had a GREAT weekend in Toronto! The weather was amazing, it didn't seem like we had enough time to do everything we wanted to do! We started late Friday evening, got to the condo at about 9pm and went for dinner at the Richtree Market {it's like a Marche or Moven Pik} and after that just strolled through the city and enjoyed all the action. We were staying right on Bay St {financial district} so it was quite the time!

Woke up early Saturday morning {kind of had to, as the sun came creeping through the window coverings, lol} went for brunch at Eggspectation on Yonge St and walked to Kensington Market. I wish I took my camera with me, as there were so many sites to see! Lots of unique vintage and eclectic shoppes, all down one street! Once we were done Kensington, we walked back through China Town, another great experience!

Late afternoon we headed back up Yonge stopped at Pier 1 and then Urban Outfitters {I found the cutest little bird shirt ever, Drew surprised me and bought it for me later, I will post in a new entry when I wear it!}...did some more window shopping and went to the Toronto Eaton Centre made a stop at Starbuck's along the way {mmm...tall mocha!} Strolled around the city some more, went back to the condo to dress up and head out for dinner #2, this time at The Keg.

Sunday we slept in {all the walking around the city} skipped breaky and had lunch at Baton Rouge {HUGE portions, I recommend sharing!} we were going to catch a matinee, but the weather was too nice to stay indoors, so we played outside instead. Went to the rooftop of the condo and took some pics, you can see the whole city of Toronto up there, even the CN Tower!

I was kinda sad coming back home...but I know that the city life is not for us, it's just fun to get out there and play in it and then come back home :)

Such talent, her music gives me a feeling of sudden elation. My fave Feist song is "Mushaboom" on the 2005 album, "Let it Die".

I've been working from my parents home the past week since we are in the process of moving, and as I was putting my shoes on to leave, I noticed a cute owl carved out of wood, hiding on the last shelf of my Mother's bookcase, how divine! {see pictures 3 + 4}

We are living with my other half's parents temporarily until we find a place to call our own, and I noticed these little brass cuties on the dresser in the room I am staying in {last picture} They are too cute :)

The two pics at the top of this post were taken last night. That was one thing my Hunny didn't miss about being back home...the birds and their pooping on his car...Oh, dear! ;)

'miss manners' tags divine papers

I opened my mailbox to find my 'Bravery Bracelet' from Shop Sick Kids and 'Miss Manners' thank you tags from the lovely Delaney at Divine Papers! How lucky am I?

On top of that, it's a BEAUTIFUL day! I will post some more pics later, I am waiting for my other half to come home so we can go for a walk and I can snap some pics of those pretty little crocusses I passed on the walk home from work. :)

If you aren't already in design school, enroll as soon as you can and prepare to wow your profs with your impressive know-how. Continue to devour as much design information as you can, and upon graduation, seek a mentor who can nurture your talent and help build your knowledge and experience base. We took a trip to Burlington this weekend {such a beautiful city!} to visit with friends. I asked Jen where she got her lovely bracelet {above} She got it from donating to the Sick Kids foundation.

The bracelet is called the "Bravery Heart Silver Heart Charm Bracelet" It is so elegant, you could wear this cas with jeans and a white tee; or on a night on the town and get all fancy-schmancy!

You've got to be kidding me?! Schools and busses are cancelled today. It's April 12th. Tulips and crocusses are suppose to be coming up and little birds chirping. I think the little birds are confused, when I took that pic there was nothing but silence. When there is snow in April it makes me wish that I lived in Bermuda or the Cayman Islands. *sigh*

craft corner - easter egg critters

These are too cute! HGTV has such fun crafts for the whole family. Here is the tutorial to make the bird shown above:

Materials

1 hardboiled egg
Tissue paper
Craft glue
Paint brush
Small plastic container
Black marker
Coloured construction paper

Directions

1. Squeeze a small amount of glue into the plastic container and add a teaspoon or two of water. Mix together well
with your brush.

2. Take your tissue paper and rip into little pieces. Then brush a small section of the egg with glue and place the tissue paper on top.

3. Work your way around the egg, overlapping the tissue paper as you go along. Once you place a piece of paperdown, dip your brush into the water and glue mixture and brush on top.

4. Leave an oval shaped space on the egg free of tissue paper for the birds tummy.

5. Place the egg flat on the portion not covered in tissue paper and allow to dry (approx. 20 minutes).

6. While the bird is drying, make the wings. Layer a few sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and trace out the shape of a wing. Cut along this shape and once the bird dries, glue the wings into place

7. To make the eyes, simply use your black marker to make 2 small circles in the front of the egg. Use your coloured construction paper to cut a small triangle for the beak and two hearts to attach to the bottom as feet.

Saturday turned out to be a lovely afternoon. Drew picked me up from work and we decided to take a walk and enjoy beautiful Georgian Bay. It is still cold outside, and there is snow on the ground in certain areas.

It was really nice to take a step away from life and enjoy what nature has to offer. :)

Renee's headbands are so comfortable, I wore one for 12 hours {I kid you not} and it did not hurt my head one bit. She is also a sweetheart to deal with. Please check out her store. My new gift has inspired me. Today I found some raving red shoes {on clearance!} at $24 I could not say no! And as I was walking to the counter I stumbled across this lovely shirt {my size!} how could I resist? {Yes, it too was on sale!} It's funny how when I am looking for something in particular, I leave with nothing, and when we go in to look for shoes for hunny, I find something and he leaves with nothing. How weird is that?
